nthrôpek Gardens is Kim Popolizio and Erika Hanson, a two-woman design team that focuses on site-specific garden and landscape design. Our aesthetic favors contrasting forms, exciting colors, and favors responding to the spirit of the site. We are passionate about our craft, inspiring our clients, working closely with them to guide and realize their vision.

In addition to design, we offer our clients fine gardening and seasonal maintenance services. Our horticultural skills and commitment to organic gardening keeps our gardens growing vigorously and looking beautiful.

Kim Popolizio and Erika Hanson met while working as horticulturists for Martha Stewart on her expansive farm-estate in Bedford, NY. The farm provided experience in many areas: organic vegetable growing, cut-flower production, greenhouse management, garden curation, specialized pruning, and meticulous maintenance of the grounds.

Kim and Erika both are trained horticulturists through the New York Botanical Garden education programs, School of Professional Horticulture, and interning at the NYBG. A mentoring relationship has been established at the celebrated Great Dixter House and Gardens in England where specific horticultural skills are studied in depth.
